April is Child Abuse Prevention Month - a month dedicated to helping raise awareness around child abuse and neglect. The blue pinwheel is the national symbol for Child Abuse Prevention.
During April, the pinwheels planted in our community symbolize the happy, healthy childhoods all children deserve. Pick up a pinwheel at Becks' Martial Arts or other local participating businesses beginning April 1st, 2025 and plant it in your yard!
At our school, we’ll be wearing blue in April and offering different promotions to help raise awareness about child abuse in our Northern Colorado community. Taekwondo and Becks Martial Arts is all about empowering students, helping build confidence, survival skills, and self-advocacy.
Have you heard of Realties For Children?
Realities For Children is a local nonprofit that provides for the emergency and ongoing support needs of children in Northern Colorado who have been abused, neglected, or are at risk. The vision of Realities For Children is to educate, engage and inspire local businesses, youth agencies, and the community to support and improve the lives of Northern Colorado children - so that no child in need is forgotten.
Child Abuse Prevention starts with each one of us. Calls to the child abuse and neglect hotline are down, but the chances that a family needs help have increased. You can be the voice of hope for children in need as we let them know they are not alone - calling 844-CO-4-Kids if you’re concerned about child abuse and neglect is one of those ways.
